Westphal, Williams Named Eagles of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior Liv Westphal (cross country) and senior Andre Williams (football) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Westphal finished sixth out of 254 total runners at the Northeast Regional Championships on Friday with a time of 20:12 (5:25 mile pace) on the 6K course at Van Cortland Park in Bronx, N.Y. Westphal qualified for the NCAA Championships which will take place Saturday, November 23 in Terre Haute, Ind.

Williams rushed for an Atlantic Coast Conference single-game-record 339 yards and two touchdowns in Boston College's 38-21 home victory over NC State on Saturday. Williams' 339 rushing yards against the Wolfpack represent the highest single-game rushing performance in the FBS this season. Through 10 games in 2013, Williams has recorded 288 carries for a school-record 1,810 yards, surpassing former record-holder Mike Cloud (1,726; 1999). He was named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week and ACC Offensive Back of the Week.

The Eagles (6-4, 3-3 ACC) travel to Maryland on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. game.
