CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College football team will make its first trip to Charlottesville Saturday to take on Virginia at 3:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast by ESPN360 and the BC/ISP Radio Network.

The Eagles (6-3, 3-2 ACC) are looking to keep pace with Clemson which currently leads the Atlantic Division with a 4-2 record, but BC has yet to win on the road in 2009. After losing 25-7 at Clemson and 48-14 at Virginia Tech, the Eagles gave Notre Dame everything they had in a 20-16 loss on October 24.

BC has won all three meetings between the two programs. The first meeting came in 1963 in Chestnut Hill and the second was on January 1, 1994 in the Carquest Bowl. The Eagles won the only meeting since joining the ACC in 2005, a 28-17 win at Alumni Stadium.

Virginia has been inconsistent this season, starting the year with three losses and then rebounding with three straight wins (including ACC wins against North Carolina and Maryland). The Cavaliers are in the midst of another three-game losing streak, dropping games to Georgia Tech, Duke and Miami to fall to 2-3 in the Coastal Division.

One person to keep an eye on over the final stretch of the season is senior WR Rich Gunnell, who is on the verge of a couple of Boston College records. He is 30 catches and 236 yards away from becoming the Eagles' career leader in those categories. Pete Mitchell holds both records with 190 catches and 2,388 yards in his four-year career. Gunnell currently has 161 catches for 2,152 yards. Gunnell also ranks fourth in career touchdown catches with 16.
