Oct. 15, 2013

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Alex Amidon (football) and graduate student Corinne Boyles (women's ice hockey) were named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Amidon caught six passes for a game-high 121 yards and one touchdown in BC's 24-14 loss at No. 3 Clemson on Saturday. He recorded a career-long 69 yard reception in the third quarter. It was his third 100-plus yard receiving effort of the season and his school-record 10th of his career. It also marked Amidon's second 100-plus yard receiving effort in as many seasons against the Tigers. Amidon, who also registered two rushing attempts for 12 yards, finished Saturday's game with a game-high 133 all-purpose yards.

Boyles led Boston College to a pair of wins against St. Lawrence over the weekend by scores of 5-2 and 2-1. She stopped 58 of the 61 shots she faced in the two games for a .951 save percentage. Boyles had 26 saves in Friday night's game and then notched 32 on Saturday. She leads Hockey East in goals against average (1.33) and save percentage (.950).

The football team (3-3, 1-2 ACC) gets a week off and then travels to North Carolina on October 26. The women's ice hockey squad (3-0-0, 1-0-0 HE) has three home games this week: New Hampshire on Wednesday (7 p.m.), Yale on Saturday (2 p.m.) and Dartmouth on Sunday (2 p.m.).
