Boston College junior Alex Amidon is one of eight receivers added to the watch list for the 2012 Biletnikoff Award given to the nation's premier receiver, the Tallahasse Quarterback Club Foundation (the awards creator and sponsor) announced on Tuesday.
Amidon has established career highs for receptions (25) and receiving yards (366) through three games in 2012. The 5-foot-11, 186-pound junior leads all Atlantic Coast Conference receivers and ranks fourth among all collegiate players in the country in receiving yards per game (122.0 ypg).
Most recently, Amidon registered game-highs for receptions (nine) and receiving yards (118) in the team's 22-13 loss at Northwestern (Sept. 15). He recorded single-game career highs for receptions (10) and yards (149) in BC's 41-32 season-opening loss to Miami (Sept. 1).
With 72 pass completions for 951 yards and six touchdowns through three games, junior quarterback Chase Rettig and Boston College's passing offense leads the ACC and ranks 15th on the national level.
Next, Boston College (1-2) will host Clemson on Saturday, Sept. 29. Saturday's kickoff time and television network will be announced no later than on Sunday, Sept. 23.
