With the football season opener vs. Wake Forest just days away, Boston College has announced a campus-wide initiative called "We Are BC" aimed at enhancing the atmosphere at BC for students, alumni, visitors, student-athletes and fans. Through the four tenets of the campaign - Pride, Passion, Respect and Responsibility - campus leaders are hoping to promote a fun, safe and respectful environment for all of Boston College.
"I am extremely proud to be associated with the rich history, the sense of community and the wonderful memories that happen daily here at The Heights," Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo said.
Also this season, the BC team will attempt to establish a new tradition called the "Eagle Walk". Approximately two hours and 15 minutes prior to the kickoff of each home game, the team will arrive on campus in front of Corcoran Commons. The BC band, cheerleaders, students and fans will then line Campanella Way as the team walks to the Yawkey Center to prepare for the game.
