Kuechly, Castonzo Named Preseason All-Americans

Kuechly was named to the first team defense while Castonzo was a member of the third team offense. Both players earned All-ACC First-Team honors last season while Kuechly was named the ACC Defensive Rookie Player of the Year.
Kuechly stepped into a starting role last year and finished the season with 158 tackles (87 solo), 13 tackles for a loss, four pass break ups, a sack, interception and fumble recovery. His 12.15 tackles per game was the highest average by any rookie since the NCAA began tracking tackles in 2003. He ranked second in the country in both solo and total tackles.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, product was named to the FWAA and Sporting News Freshman All-America teams and was a SI.com second team All-American.
Castonzo has been a fixture on the offensive line since his arrival on campus in 2007. He has started all 41 games the last three years and last season was named a SI.com All-America honorable mention. He anchored the line that ranked 39th in the country in sacks allowed (1.54) and blocked for RB Montel Harris, who had the fourth-most carries in the country (308) and the 10th-most rushing yards (1,457).
The Hawthorn Woods, Ill., native has also been named to the Lindy's preseason All-America first team and the Playboy Preseason All-America team.
