Approximately 100 loyal Boston College supporters gathered for "Draft Night at BC" Thursday evening, celebrating the selection of former BC standout linebacker Luke Kuechly at number nine overall to the Carolina Panthers in the 2012 NFL Draft.
A group of former Eagles including Pete Cronan '77, Pete Kendall '95, Stalin Colinet '96, Brian St. Pierre '02 and Sean Ryan '03 served as a special BC NFL Draft panel, sharing insight about their NFL experiences and the role BC played in preparing them for the league.
The first-time event provided loyal Flynn Fund members and season-ticket holders the opportunity to gain direct insight into the unique situations and challenges former Eagles have experienced in preparation of the NFL Draft. The panelists emphasized the great impact BC supporters can provide to the BC student-athlete experience, allowing them to excel both on the field and in the classroom while on the Heights.
Guests gathered in the Murray Room of the Yawkey Athletics Center while they watched the draft unfold on two large projection screens. The evening provided a unique opportunity for members of the Flynn Fund to connect and interact, while honoring the hard work and determination of one of our greatest Eagles, Kuechly, who previously recorded a message thanking the BC supporters.
