Gonzalez, Simpson Added To BC Football Roster

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College has added two scholarship players to its football roster and both players have enrolled in school for the spring 2002 semester. The players are: wide receiver Tony Gonzalez (Framingham, Mass.) and offensive lineman Jeremy Simpson (Montreal, Quebec).

Outstanding athlete who spent the 2001 fall semester at Worcester (MA) Academy...led Framingham High School to its first Super Bowl appearance, and championship, in the fall of 2000...was named the 2000 MetroWest Daily News male athlete of the year...played quarterback in high school...rated the 39th-best "athlete" in this year's recruiting class by outstanding baseball player who was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 16th round of the 2001 Major League Baseball draft...was a Boston Globe all-scholastic pick in baseball...hit .554 in his senior year in high school with 32 RBI.
