Boston College defensive back Donnie Fletcher will get to don his maroon and gold helmet one final time as a member of the North squad in the 2012 Senior Bowl. Fletcher has officially accepted an invitation to the senior showcase event, it was announced today. The 63rd Senior Bowl is scheduled for 3pm (CT) on Saturday, January 28th in Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game and all practices will be televised by NFL Network.
"We're excited to see Donnie perform in front of the NFL's top decision makers here at the Senior Bowl," Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said. "He's certainly earned this opportunity and we're confident he'll make the most of it."
Fletcher posted 35 total tackles in 2011 to go along with four pass breakups and one interception. He enjoyed his best game of the year against Notre Dame, totaling six stops and two pass breakups versus the Fighting Irish. As a junior, Fletcher finished tied for 11th nationally with five interceptions. He leaves Boston College with 181 total tackles, including four tackles for loss, ten pass breakups and ten interceptions.
