1997 Season: Saw action in all 11 games...fifth on the team in tackles with 67, including 33 solo...his 67 tackles was eighth in the BIG EAST Conference among linemen...tied for second on the team in sacks with five for a total loss of 21 yards...also broke up two passes and forced one fumble...registered 10 tackles at Notre Dame...had nine tackles in each of the games against Virginia Tech and Army...in the double overtime game against Miami, he recorded eight tackles and two sacks...had six tackles, 1.5 sacks, and broke up one pass against Cincinnati.
1996 Season: Was listed as the No. 2 nose guard, but still managed to secure lots of playing time, including starts in the Hawaii and Syracuse games... finished the year with 41 tackles, a quarterback sack and a caused fumble...had his biggest day of the year against Notre Dame, when he was in on 10 stops, eight of which were solo tackles...recorded four tackles in each of the games against Hawaii and Cincinnati...made three tackles and caused a fumble in the win over Navy.

High School: Earned Blue Chip Illustrated and Super Prep All-America honors; was ranked ninth on Super Prep's list...widely considered the top prospect in the state of Virginia...earned All-State first team recognition and state Defensive Player of the Year honors...also collected Prep Football Report All-Region and USA Today All-America honorable mention accolades...was a Washington Post All-Metropolitan selection...played in the 1995 Chesapeake Classic All-Star Game that pits Maryland all-stars against Virginia all-stars...recorded a team-high 136 tackles and 11 sacks as a senior nose guard for head coach Dale Eaton's West Potomac High School squad...also rushed for three touchdowns as a senior fullback...notched six sacks as a junior...rushed for five touchdowns as a sophomore fullback...also earned All-District honors in baseball, basketball and track (shot put)...was selected as the Mount Vernon Gazette's 1994 Athlete of the Year in Northern Virginia.
