At BC: A talented defensive back...has tremendous talent in pass coverage...should help to make the secondary one of BC's strengths..has the physical skills to be an outstanding deep defender...he is also a member of the Boston College track of the leading long jumpers on the East a sophomore, he placed second in the long jump (23 2.50) at the New England Indoor Track Championships...finished third in the long jump (23' 4 1/2) at the BIG EAST Indoor Track Championships...placed fifth in the long jump (24 2.50) at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track Championship...registered two unassisted tackles in the annual spring game.

1998 Season: Started all 11 games at strong safety...finished fourth on the team with 75 tackles, 49 of which were solo efforts...also had an interception, broke up three passes, forced a fumble and had three QB hurries...registered a season-high 12 stops versus Navy...had seven tackles in the season opener versus Georgia Tech...Had an interception and four solo stops ( three for a loss) versus Virginia Tech...

1997 Season: Played in all 11 games as strong safety...second on the team in tackles with 91, including 53 solo...also recorded one interception and two pass breakups...ranked seventh in the BIG EAST Conference in tackles among defensive backs, 18th among all players...registered 19 tackles, including eight solo, against Virginia the double overtime game against Miami, he had 10 unassisted tackles, and finished with a total of 13...also recorded double figures in tackles against Army (12 tackles) and Syracuse (10 tackles)...registered his one interception of the season against Georgia Tech, ending the Yellow Jackets' drive early in the fourth quarter...also returned two kickoffs for 20 yards, including one for 18 yards, against Notre Dame.

1996 Season: Gave Eagle fans a preview of things to come when he started the Hawaii game at strong safety three days before classes even began at Boston College...had a fine rookie season, making 21 tackles, 16 of which were solo efforts...had a big game against Notre Dame, making five stops and forcing an Irish fumble...also was in on five tackles at West Virginia...played extensively on special teams.

High School: Earned Cleveland Plain Dealer All-City and All-State honors as a senior defensive back...captured All-Region accolades from Blue Chip Illustrated and Super Prep magazine...made more than 100 tackles in both his junior and senior seasons...made one interception in 1995...selected to play in the Pennsylvania-Ohio Big 33 All-Star Game (Hershey, Penn.; July 1996)...played for head coach Jim outstanding athlete, he is one of the top long jumpers in Ohio and was also recruited to play Division I basketball.

Personal: George Rodney White, Jr., born November 17, 1977...enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences, but has not yet decided on a major...George is the son of Beverly and George White.
