Started the final seven games for the Eagles at cornerback...was the team leader in interceptions with six for 29 yards — one for a touchdown...was tied for seventh in the country in interceptions and tied for second in the BIG EAST...had a career-high eight tackles against both Pittsburgh (Oct. 21) and Notre Dame (Nov. 11)...had two interceptions vs. Temple (Nov. 4) and returned an interception vs. Syracuse (Oct. 14) for 29 yards and a touchdown...was tied for third on the team with five tackles for a loss and is second in sacks with four....made one tackle in the Aloha Bowl along with a forced fumble and pass breakup.
Earned defensive back of the year honors as a redshirt freshman (1998) at St. Mary’s College…started the first five games before suffering a groin injury…registered 37 tackles and three interceptions; returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns (29 yards vs. Lehigh; 58 yards vs. Cal Poly).
Free safety at Galileo High School…served as 1996 team captain for head coach Kevin Adams…led the Lions to an 11-1 record and the San Francisco (AAA) title in 1996…a tremendous three-sport athlete who was chosen as San Francisco’s Athlete of the Year in 1996-97…excelled in the 100 and 4x100 relay as a member of the track team…was also a two-time all-city basketball selection.
Lenny Walls, born September 26, 1979…a fine student who was on the Dean’s List at St. Mary’s…enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences as a sociology major…recipient of the Jay McGillis ’93 Scholarship Fund this year at Boston College…Lenny is one of Augustine and Ivory Walls’ three children...twin brother of Boston College basketball player Kenny Walls.
