High School: Hails from perennial powerhouse Berwick Area High School, where he became the school's 13th quarterback since 1971 to earn a Division I scholarship...earned All-America honors from USA Today, National Recruiting Advisor and Max Emfinger's Bluechips...captured All-Region accolades from Blue Chip Illustrated, Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report and Super Prep magazine...was selected as Gatorade's Pennsylvania Player of the Year and the Big 33 Player of the Year... a three-year starter who led the Bulldogs to back-to-back Pennsylvania "AAA" state titles (1994 and 1995) and the 1995 USA Today national championship... had a 42-2 record as a starter...completed more than 65 percent of his passes for more than 4,900 yards and 49 touchdowns in his career; threw for 2,152 yards and 20 TDs as a senior...a mobile quarterback who rushed for 550 yards and 18 TDs as a senior and for 1,429 yards (4.4 yards/carry) and 32 TDS in his career...took part in the Pennsylvania-Ohio Big 33 All-Star Game (Hershey, Penn.; July 1996) played for head coach George Curry...was a three-year letterman on the Bulldogs' basketball team.
