At BC: Made the move from running back to outside linebacker prior to the 1997 season...will also have the opportunity to see significant action at linebacker...registered five tackles in the spring game.

1998 Season: Played in five games...registered six tackles (five solo)...notched two stops against both Rutgers and Notre Dame.

1997 Season: Played a key role on the Eagles' special teams...finished the season with three tackles, including one solo stop.

1996 Season: Didn't see any game action.

High School: Earned All-Region honors from Blue Chip Illustrated, Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report and Super Prep magazine...a two-time Newark Star Ledger All-Ocean County selection...rushed for 903 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior at Manchester Township High School...finished his schoolboy career with 3,120 rushing yards and 40 TDs...played for head coach Joe Ascolese...also competed on the school's basketball and track teams.

Personal: Joseph Mickens III, born January 10, 1977... enrolled as a sociology major in the College of Arts & Sciences...Joe and his younger brother Andrew are the sons of Janice and Joseph Mickens.
