At BC: After spending one year on the offensive line, Kneib switched back to the defensive side of the ball last fall...will be a key factor in the Eagles' front line of defense in ?98...an outstanding student, he earned the Gerald B. Healy Scholarship for Academic Excellence at the annual all-sports banquet this past May...a two-time recipient of the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement, he's twice led the football team in overall grade-point average...broke up one pass in the annual spring game...will be expected to back up Adam Grace at left end.
1998 Season: Played in four games...made a season-high three solo stops versus Louisville...had five tackles on the season...had one stop behind the line of scrimmage also against Louisville...credited with a tackle in the win over Georgia Tech.
1997 Season: Played in nine of the team's 11 games...had his best effort against Temple, registering two tackles (one solo) and one pass breakup...made one tackle in the Eagles'home win over West Virginia... had one tackle against Cincinnati.
1996 Season: Redshirted.
High School: Earned All-Region honors from Super Prep magazine and Blue Chip Illustrated...recorded 44 tackles and three sacks as a senior...was a two-way lineman for head coach Tony Severino...also excelled on the school's track and wrestling teams.
Personal: Patrick Dennis Kneib, born October 10, 1977... enrolled as a computer science major in the Carroll School of Management; accepted into the Boston College honors program...was one of five Eagles to earn 1997 BIG EAST Football All-Academic honors...served as an orientation leader for Boston College's First-Year Experience program during the summer of 1997...worked in Fidelity Investments Capital Markets division this past summer...earned Rockhurst's Award for extraordinary character...has served as an Ignatio Volunteer...Pat is the son of Linda and Dennis Kneib.
