Evans Earns Phil Steele Preseason All-America Honors

2000 Season
Started all 11 games at wide receiver plus the Aloha Bowl?was the second-leading receiver on the team with 26 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns...made a career-high five receptions for 74 yards vs. Temple (Nov. 4)...made three receptions in four consecutive games with 33 receiving yards vs. Pittsburgh (Oct. 21), 53 receiving yards vs. Syracuse (Oct. 14), 107 receiving yards and one touchdown vs. Connecticut (Oct. 7) and 33 yards and two TDs vs. Virginia Tech (Sept. 30)...had three receptions for 20 yards vs. Notre Dame (Nov. 11)...also had two catches for 19 yards against West Virginia and two for 24 vs. Rutgers (Oct. 28)...career highs are the 107 yards against UConn and a 75-yard reception vs. the Huskies....had one reception for six yards in the Aloha Bowl vs. Arizona State.

1999 Season
Played in all 11 games for the Eagles plus the Insight.com Bowl?caught 11 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns?had season-best day in BC's win over Notre Dame; hauled in two passes for 56 yards, both of which went for the first touchdowns of his career?had two catches for 81 yards, including a season-long 50-yard reception against West Virginia?hauled in a 43-yard pass against Northeastern.

Earned USA Today All-America honorable mention honors as a senior wide receiver at Brockton High School...was a PrepStar All-America selection...captured all-state honors...earned all-scholastic honors from the Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Brockton Enterprise...made 40 receptions for 888 yards and 13 touchdowns in 1997...played on both sides of the ball for head coach Armond Colombo, making 20 tackles and five interceptions from his cornerback slot...made 16 catches for 344 yards and five touchdowns in five games as a junior...was also a standout on Brockton's basketball and track teams; was the leading scorer in the Big Three basketball conference as a senior...one in the long and talented list of Brockton High School products to bring their skills to BC?a fine athlete who has a 38-inch vertical jump.
