Named to the All-Big East second team...received BC's Scanlan Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a Boston College football player for all-around excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community...won Scholar-Athlete Award at the 2004 Continental Tire Bowl...finished the 2004 season with 52 total tackles (30 solos, 22 assists)...second on the team in TFL with 16.5 for 53 yards...second on the team in sacks (4.5 for 25 yards)...also had a pass breakup, a forced fumble and a blocked kick...was one of the key cogs in a defensive line that helped the Eagles rank among the best defensive units in the Big East and the nation...named tri-captain of the 2004 squad...signed a contract as a free agent with the Arizona Cardinals...all-star who had been a solid member of the defensive unit in all three previous seasons...his mother, Patricia, sang the National Anthem prior to the Senior Day game vs. Syracuse.

Three solos, three assists and one sack vs. Ball TFL , one pass breakup vs. Penn State...two solos, one assist and one TFL vs. Connecticut...two solos, one assist and two TFLs vs. Wake Forest...three solos and two TFLs for five yards including one sack for a four-yard loss vs. Massachusetts...two solos vs. Pittsburgh...two solos, four assists and 0.5 TFL at Notre Dame....three solos and one TFL for two yards vs. Rutgers...four solos, five assists, 2.5 TFL for eight yards and one sack for six yard loss at West Virginia...three solos, five assists, three and one half TFL for seven yards, one sack for a three-yard loss, one pass block and one forced fumble at Temple...four solos, two assists and one TFL vs. Syracuse.

2003 Season

Finished the 2003 season with 33 tackles (23 solos) and 11 TFLS (second on the team) for 42 yards...also had four sacks, six pass break-ups and 12 quarterback hurries...saw significant action in all 13 games and started the Temple game for the injured Tom solo, one assist vs. Wake Forest in season opener...had one solo, one assist, two TFLs vs. Penn State...three solos, two assists, one TFL, four QB hurries at solo, one TFL against QB hurry against Ball State...five solos, one assist, two TFLs, one QB hurry, one half of a sack at solo, one TFL, one QB hurry at assist, two TFLs, four QB hurries, one and a half sacks vs. Notre Dame...three solos, one assist, one QB sack vs. solo, one QB hurry against West Virginia...four solos, one QB hurry vs. Rutgers...knocked down two passes and recorded three solo tackles and one assist at Virginia Tech.

2002 Season

Promoted to starter, along with Phil Mettling, when Antonio Garay and Doug Goodwin suffered season-ending injuries in that game...recipient of the Nugent Family Football Scholarship...finished as BC's sixth-leading tackler on the year with 56 (44 solos) and 8.5 TFLs, two sacks, 7 pass breakups and 10 quarterback hurries...credited with four solos, two assists, three quarterback hurries and one TFL vs. Connecticut in the season opener...similar game vs. Stanford - four solos, two assists, one TFL and a quarterback hurry...two solos vs. Miami in the Orange Bowl...four solos vs. Central Michigan...two solos, one TFL, one quarterback hurry vs. Virginia Tech...getting his first start, notched his best game to date against Navy - eight solos, two TFLs, one QB hurry and one forced fumble...three tackles (two solos), one TFL, one PBU vs. Pittsburgh...three solos, two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery vs. Notre Dame...nine tackles (seven solos), including a TFL, in the West Virginia game...three tackles (two solos), one caused incompletion vs. Syracuse...five tackles (three solos), one quarterback hurry, one caused incompletion vs. Temple...two tackles, including one TFL, and one pass breakup vs. Rutgers.

2001 Season

Saw duty in all 11 games plus the Music City Bowl as a backup defensive lineman and also played special teams...had a career-high four tackles in win over Army (Sept. 29)...also had three tackles against Stanford (Sept. 8) and Temple (Oct. 6)...had two tackles for a loss against the Cadets and a fumble recovery against Navy (Sept. 22)...had one tackle in Music City Bowl win vs. Georgia.

High School

Earned SuperPrep All-America honors as a senior defensive tackle at Boston College High School; also earned all-Northeast honors from the publication all-East selection by Tom Lemming and an all-region choice by PrepStar...gained Boston Globe Division 1 Player of the Year honors in 2000...captured Catholic Conference MVP honors in 2000; was a two-time Catholic Conference all-star...selected as an Eastern Massachusetts Division I All-Star...a 2000 All-Scholastic selection by the Boston Globe, Boston Herald and (Quincy) Patriot-Ledger...recorded 17.0 sacks in his senior season; finished his schoolboy career with 36.5 sacks in three seasons...served as team captain as a senior.
