Earned all-state first-team honors as a senior linebacker at Suitland High School; 1999 was his first year at linebacker after spending his first two seasons at defensive tackle...also captured all-metropolitan first-team accolades...was a USA Today honorable mention selection...was a member of PrepStar?s all-mid-Atlantic team...selected as one of SuperPrep?s top 25 players in Maryland...was chosen as Prince George?s County defensive player of the year...registered 198 tackles, including 32 solo stops, in 1999...also recorded five sacks, five quarterback hurries, four forced fumbles and two pass breakups...led the Rams to an 8-2 regular-season record and their third consecutive Prince George?s County 4A title...made a single-game-high 26 tackles, including one sack, in a 16-12 victory over Largo...a versatile athlete who also earned All-County honors in the shot put while competing for Suitland?s track and field team.


Sydney Baskins, born April 16, 1982...enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences as a communications major...Sydney is the son of Faith and William Lucas. A two-way tackle at Amsterdam High School, Beekman is projected to play on the offensive side of the ball...enjoyed a stellar schoolboy career; he started at defensive tackle as an eighth-grader.
