At BC: A powerful run blocker and steady pass protector...he is expected to regain his starting job at right tackle...at 339 pounds, he is the biggest Eagle.

1998 Season: Returned to the roster after a one-year absence and made a powerful impact to the starting offensive line...started the first nine games at left tackle.

1997 Season: Sat out the season for personal reasons.

1996 Season: Won his first varsity monogram and was in the starting lineup for every game...suffered a finger injury in the spring wrap-up scrimmage.

1995 Season: Redshirted...was one of seven newcomers to the Eagle program from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

High School: Earned All-State, All-Region, All-District and All-Area accolades as a senior at Chancellor High School...earned All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors from Super Prep, Prep Football Report and Blue Chip Illustrated...was a Richmond Times-Dispatch Top 30 and a Roanoke Times Top 25 selection...played for head coach Scott Miller...captured All-District basketball honors after leading his team in scoring and rebounding...set a school record in the shot put (53'6").

Personal: Darnell LaShawn Alford, born June 11, 1977...enrolled in the School of Education, where he is a human development major...Darnell is the oldest of Charyl Alford's three children.
