Plagued by injuries, the men’s team struggled on Saturday, dropping matches against NYU, Stevens and Haverford, while rallying for wins in the final two meets against NJIT and Hunter.   “It was a difficult day for our men’s team, but I’m very proud of the way Berent LaBrecque stepped up,” said coach Fadner.  “We had to shift him from sabre to foil at the last minute to cover for two injured foilists, and he responded like a trooper.”

Senior sabre fencer Deven Midgley was 10-5 for the day, the best individual record on the men’s side.
