CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's fencing team posted four wins in Northeast Fencing Conference dual meets at Boston College on Saturday. The men's team did not fare as well, beating only Dartmouth, while dropping close matches to MIT and Vassar.
Women's Epee put up a phenomenal performance, with freshman Renee Bichette, junior Cara Hall and sophomore Olivia Adragna going 46-8 overall on the day. Sabre was not far behind, highlighted by performances from freshman Jackie Bai and sophomore Marney Krupat. The foil squad contributed as well, with a strong performance by Linda Zhang.
"I'm incredibly proud of Linda Zhang for knocking off two NCAA qualifiers," head coach Syd Fadner said. She noted that the women's team worked especially hard knowing how important it was to win on their home turf.
Coach Fadner was pleased with the way the men's foil squad performed, lead by Han Min Lee and Peter Wetzel, who had the best results for the day. Epeeist Marcus Chan performed well and Devin Midgley in sabre was on point today, stepping up for some big wins.
