CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Lonnie Jackson has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week, announced Monday by the conference office.
Jackson recorded a career-high 26 points on Sunday to lead Boston College to a 75-55 win against Bryant. He went 8-for-13 from the field and 7-for-11 from beyond the arc. The seven 3-pointers are the most by a player in the ACC this season and his .636 3-point percentage is the best among those with 10 or more attempts.
He was the first BC player to hit seven 3-pointers in a game since Tyrese Rice did it against North Carolina on March 1, 2008. Jackson also had five rebounds and a steal.
Jackson and the Eagles are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Sacred Heart at 7 p.m. in Conte Forum.
