Nov. 5, 2009
Boston College will tip off the 2009-10 basketball season with an exhibition contest against St. Michael's on Sunday, Nov. 8. Game time is 2 p.m. in Conte Forum. Admission is free (no ticket required).
The Eagles return 11 lettermen, including four starters, from last winter's team that finished with a 22-12 mark (9-7 ACC) and earned the program's seventh NCAA Tournament bid in the last nine years.
The 2009-10 Eagles feature one fresh face. Sophomore Peter Rehnquist joined the team as a walk-on during preseason workouts. Rehnquist, who hails from Sharon, Mass., earned All-Hockomock League honors as senior at Sharon High School in 2006-07. He spent the 2007-08 academic year as a postgraduate student at Deerfield Academy.
Associate head coach Pat Duquette, now in his 13th season on Al Skinner's coaching staff, will be contributing a monthly article to provide insight into the game, his duties, his team and the state of college basketball as part of College Chalktalk's National Coaches' Diary Series. The series, which just launched, will feature more than 50 coaches from more than 20 different conferences from November through March.
Coach Duquette's articles - and those of other coaches - can be found at www.collegechalktalk.com. Duquette's articles will also be archived on the BC's athletics web site.
