Men's Basketball Picked Eighth In ACC Preseason Poll

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Boston College men's basketball team was voted eighth in the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason poll, announced Wednesday at the 2013 ACC Operation Basketball.
The Eagles received 457 votes.
Duke (805 points) was selected to win the regular season conference title and earned 50 first-place votes. Syracuse (753) came in second with three first-place votes and North Carolina (668) rounded out the top three and earned the final first-place vote.
Virginia (612), Notre Dame (608), Pittsburgh (477) and Maryland (473) were voted fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively, before the Eagles.
The rest of the preseason ballot in order was: Florida State (334), NC State (332), Georgia Tech (311), Miami (224), Wake Forest (220), Clemson (141) and Virginia Tech (65).
Syracuse's C.J. Fair was named the Preseason Player of the Year while Duke's Jabari Parker earned ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year. Sophomore Olivier Hanlan earned three votes for Player of the Year.
The ACC Preseason All-Conference Team consists of Fair, Joe Harris (Virginia), Rodney Hood (Duke), Jerian Grant (Notre Dame) and Parker.
