Men's Basketball Loses To Valencia, 93-66

VALENCIA, Spain - Sophomores Ryan Anderson and Dennis Clifford combined for 27 points as the Boston College men's basketball team lost to the Valencia Basket Club of Spain's top league, 93-66, Thursday night.
Clifford led BC with 15 points and eight rebounds while Anderson had 12 points and six boards. Freshman Joe Rahon scored 11 points and had three rebounds, and junior Danny Rubin contributed 10 points. Freshman Olivier Hanlan recorded eight points, three rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Valencia came out hot and scored the game's first eight points, and led 24-10 after the first quarter. BC adjusted at the start of the second, going on a 12-2 run in the first 2:30 of the quarter. Rahon and sophomore Lonnie Jackson hit consecutive 3-pointers to force a Valencia timeout.
Valencia responded with 10 unanswered points of their own to regain control, 36-22, midway through the quarter; and went into halftime with a 50-32 lead. A 10-1 Valencia run to start the third quarter put the game out of reach.
The Eagles are off on Friday to travel to Barcelona. They will face Regal Barcelona Saturday night in their fourth and final game in Spain.
