Men's Hoops Releases 2014-15 Non-Conference Schedule
July 9, 2014
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's basketball team has released the non-conference portion of its 2014-15 schedule and it features eight games at Conte Forum.
The Eagles will not play a true road game in non-conference action. BC will play a total of four neutral site games at TD Garden and in Puerto Rico.
Boston College opens the 2014-15 season by hosting New Hampshire on Friday, November 14 at 7 p.m. Two days later, the Eagles will once again face Massachusetts in the Coaches vs. Cancer Massachusetts Tripleheader at TD Garden. The Minutemen won last year's meeting in the Garden, 86-73.
BC will then travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, from November 20-23 for three games in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The matchups will be announced at a later date. The field is highlighted by the defending national champion Connecticut and Dayton, which advanced to the Elite Eight last year. New Mexico is another NCAA Tournament participant that will play in Puerto Rico. The rest of the field includes Texas A&M, George Mason, West Virginia and College of Charleston.
All six of Boston College's games in December will be played at Conte Forum. The Eagles welcome Marist on December 1 for just the second matchup between the two programs. BC and Providence continue their tradition as the Friars visit Chestnut Hill on December 5. The two teams have met every season since 1953-54. PC won last year's season opener in overtime in Rhode Island, 82-78.
The following weekend, the Eagles host Maine on December 11 and Binghamton on December 14. It will be the first meeting ever between BC and the Bearcats.
USC makes the trip across the country on December 21 after BC visited the Trojans last season. USC won that meeting, 78-62. On December 29, BC hosts UMass-Lowell in the first meeting between the two programs. The River Hawks are led by former BC assistant coach Pat Duquette who was at The Heights for 13 years. Former Eagles Biko Paris and Louis Hinnant serve on his staff. Paris is an assistant coach and Hinnant is the director of operations.
The non-conference schedule concludes with a home contest against Harvard on January 14. BC played at Lavietes Pavilion last year and lost, 73-58.
The complete 2014-15 schedule will be released later this summer.
