CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's basketball team has signed Idrissa Diallo for the 2014-15 season, announced Thursday by head coach Jim Christian.

Diallo, a 6-11 forward from Los Angeles, graduated from Cathedral High School, one of the top programs in California. He played for acclaimed head coach William Middlebrooks.

Diallo, a native of Senegal who moved to Los Angeles in 2011, played his senior season at Cathedral after beginning his high school career at the Ribet Academy. Diallo was named to the All-California Interscholastic Federation Second Team last year after averaging 10.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He also averaged 2.4 blocks, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals last season.

Diallo was named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Elite team. He led the 24-6 Phantoms to the CIFSS Open Division playoffs and was named MVP of the Camino Real League. Recently, he was named Cathedral's Student-Athlete of the Year.

Diallo was originally committed to California, but reopened his recruitment after the retirement of head coach Mike Montgomery.
