March 11, 2014

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomores Megan Cooley (softball) and Olivier Hanlan (men's basketball) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Cooley led Boston College to a 6-2 record last week, including a perfect 5-0 at the USF Series Tournament in Tampa, Florida. In eight games, Cooley hit .520, scored four runs, recorded five RBIs and stole four bases. She has helped BC extend its winning streak to six games, the longest streak since the Eagles won seven straight in February, 2012.

Hanlan averaged 24.5 points, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in two games last week. He recorded 20 points, four assists and two steals in BC's home finale against Florida State. He then scored 29 points at NC State while dishing out five assists. He was 10-for-17 from the floor and 7-for-8 from the foul line in that game. Hanlan was recently named to the All-ACC Third Team and the USBWA All-District Team.

Softball (14-7, 2-1 ACC) is off this week and will host Florida State for a weekend series beginning on March 22. Men's basketball (8-23, 4-14 ACC) opens the ACC Tournament on Wednesday night against Georgia Tech.
