CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Joe Rahon has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week after averaging 21.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games last week.
Rahon scored 24 points in a 79-58 win against Dartmouth and was nearly perfect from the field. He was 7-for-8 from the floor, 6-for-6 from beyond the arc and 4-for-4 from the foul line. He also had five assists. It was the most points scored by a freshman in a game in the ACC this year.
He followed that up with an 18-point performance in his ACC debut against #23/25 NC State on Saturday.
Rahon ranks second among freshman and seventh overall in the ACC in assists per game (4.1).
Boston College (8-6, 0-1 ACC) is on the road at Virginia Tech Wednesday night and at Wake Forest on Saturday.
