B.C. Takes Care of BABC, 107-91
Senior forward Antonio Granger scored 30 points to lead Boston College to a 107-91 exhibition win over the Boston Amateur Basketball Club Alumni team in Conte Forum.
Four other Eagles joined Granger in double figures. Senior guard Duane Woodward and junior forward Kostas Maglos each scored 18 points, senior center Mickey Curley had 17 points and freshman guard Javier Rodriguez added 10 points. Woodward registered 12 assists for the victors.
The BABC Alumni squad, made up of former collegiate players from the Boston area, was led by Bryan Edwards' 25 points. Edwards played two years at Boston College, before transferring to James Madison. Bob Francis and Dan Delgado each added 13 points for BABC.
Boston College led 54-44 at halftime. BABC led by as many as nine points in the early going, before the host Eagles closed the first half with a 28-9 run to take the lead. Granger had 18 points in the first 20 minutes.
BABC closed the margin to as few as two points at 68-66 with 13:36 to play, before Boston College assumed control with a 34-12 run over the next 11 minutes. Maglos' 12 points and Curley's 11 points sparked the Eagles in the second half.
Boston College opens its regular-season schedule at home on Sunday, November 16 against Central Connecticut State University. Game time is 1 p.m.
