CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman forward Corey Raji tallied 13 points and seven rebounds and senior center Tyrelle Blair recorded 11 points and eight blocked shots to lead Boston College to a 61-39 win over Saint Louis before 4,126 fans in Conte Forum.

Junior guard Tyrese Rice and sophomore forward Shamari Spears rounded out BC's list of double-figure scorers with 10 points each.

The host Eagles held a 9-5 lead seven minutes into the contest, before scoring 14 unanswered points to claim a 23-5 margin with 8:41 to play in the first half. Rice led the charge with five points in this stretch.

Saint Louis regrouped and trimmed the difference to 13 points - 33-20 - at the intermission.

The visiting Billikens could never get any closer. BC outscored Saint Louis 21-9 in the first 11-plus minutes of the second half. Raji sank three field goals, including one old-fashioned three-point play, and four free throws in this BC rally.

Tonight's contest marked the first-ever meeting between the two Jesuit institutions.

Game Notes: BC outrebounded Saint Louis, 36-21 ... The Eagles shot 48.8 percent from the field, while limiting the Billikens to 30.6 percent shooting ... Blair's 11 points and eight blocked shots both marked career highs ... Freshman Rakim Sanders was credited with a career-best four assists.
