BLACKSBURG, Va. - Junior Reggie Jackson scored 20 points, and senior Corey Raji recorded 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Boston College to a 76-61 ACC win over Virginia Tech before 9,684 fans in Cassell Coliseum.

Senior John Cahill tallied a career-high 12 points to round out BC's list of double-digit scorers.

With the game tied at 6-6, BC used a 13-0 run to take early control of the contest. Jackson scored 11 points in this three-plus minute stretch, hitting three three-pointers and sinking two free throws.

After the host Hokies tallied the game's next four points, BC resumed its surge with an 11-2 run to claim a 30-12 advantage with 7:59 to play in the opening half. Raji, Cahill and senior Biko Paris each hit one trey in this rally.

Virginia Tech brought the home crowd back to life with a 15-5 run to close the half. The Hokies trailed by eight, 35-27, at the break.

After the home team twice narrowed the margin to five points - 35-30 and 38-33 - early in the second half, Boston College reasserted itself with a 14-2 run over the next six-plus minutes to claim a 59-41 lead. This time it was a balanced attack that paced the Eagles. Raji netted five points, freshman Gabe Moton hit a trey, and Jackson, Cahill and senior Josh Southern each contributed two points.

BC extended its lead to as many as 20 points - 64-43 and 70-50 - later in the game.

Game Notes: Cahill logged 33 minutes. He shot 6-for-6 from the foul line ... Raji's point-rebound double-double was his second this season and the eighth of his collegiate career ... BC sank 10 treys, marking the 12th time this season BC has made 10 or more treys in a game ... BC gained a 38-24 rebounding advantage. The game marked BC's second double-digit rebounding margin of the season (BC was also a plus-14 at South Carolina on Jan. 1). In the first BC-Virginia Tech meeting this season, Virginia Tech outrebounded the Eagles, 42-30 ... Southern registered an impressive stat line - six points, seven rebounds, four assists (no turnovers), one blocked shot and one steal in 18 minutes ... Moton finished with seven points (3-for-4 FG, one trey), two rebounds and one steal in 19 minutes ... BC's reserves contributed 13 points, while Virginia Tech's bench scored three points. Both teams played eight players.
