Men's Basketball Loses to Miami, 73-64

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Joe Trapani tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds, and junior Reggie Jackson totaled 15 points to lead Boston College in a 73-64 ACC loss to Miami before 6,138 fans in Conte Forum.
The host Eagles trailed by 21 points - 38-17 - at halftime, before launching two valiant second-half rallies. BC cut the Miami margin to seven points - 43-36 with 10:58 left - and to five points - 61-56 with 3:38 left. After each BC run, the visiting Hurricanes answered.
After senior John Cahill's three-pointer capped a 19-5 BC run to start the second half, Miami's Reggie Johnson converted consecutive three-point plays to boost the Canes' advantage to 13 points (49-36).
With BC trailing 59-44 with 5:38 to play, the Eagles used a 12-2 run to close within five points with 3:38 left. Jackson and senior Corey Raji each scored five points in this stretch. A Raji trey completed the BC run. This time, it was Miami's Malcolm Grant who hit a long-range three-pointer as the shot clock wound down to stop the home team's momentum.
BC never got the lead below six points in the final three minutes.
The visitors led 12-10 eight minutes into the contest, before scoring 22 of the game's next 24 points to gain a commanding 34-12 advantage with 2:47 left in the half. The Hurricanes led 38-17 at the break.
