Miami scored seven unanswered points early in the second half to extend its lead to 41-28 with 14:08 left. BC was never within eight points after that.
HOW IT HAPPENED Miami started the game on a 14-6 run, but Boston College responded with an 11-4 run over the next 5:17 to cut the deficit to one. Heckmann hit a pair of 3-pointers in that span.
The Hurricanes recovered with a quick 7-2 spurt that built the lead back to 27-19. They took a 27-22 lead into the half.
