Kampmann is in his second season with the Eagles, his first as assistant coach. He joined the program as director of basketball operations in the spring of 2010 after serving three seasons as an assistant coach under Steve Donahue at Cornell.
The Big Red won 20 or more games in each of Kampmann's three seasons with the program. In 2009-10, Cornell won a school-record 29 games and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to joining Donahue at Cornell, Kampmann spent the 2006-07 season as an assistant coach at Hobart. There he worked under Izzi Metz, a former Donahue assistant. Kampmann also served one season (2005-06) as an assistant coach at Williams College.
Kampmann was a two-year letterman at Colby (Maine) College, before opting to transfer to Hobart. He earned one letter with the Statesman, before moving to a role as a student assistant coach in his senior year.
Kampmann graduated from Hobart in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in American studies.
Kampmann is a 2001 graduate of Blair (NJ) Academy.
Kampmann and his wife Erin were married in August 2010.
