Baseball Starts "Birdball For Life" Social Media Campaign

Sept. 24, 2013

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team is starting a new social media initiative called "Birdball For Life," (BBFL) which calls for photos of former players remaining in each other's lives. From weddings to cookouts to concerts, BC baseball players stay close after leaving the Heights and #BBFL is hoping to capture that.

Former players can submit photos on the BC Birdball Facebook page or via Twitter using the hashtag #BBFL. They can also submit photos of their children - Future Eagles - wearing BC gear. Please include what the activity is and who is in the photo. The photos will be gathered in a Facebook album.

"Playing baseball at Boston College becomes part of who you are," head coach Mike Gambino said. "The four-year experience, the Jesuit values and the lessons you learn on and off the field shape you for the rest of your life. You end up in each other's weddings, going to BC football and baseball games together, helping each other get jobs and meeting up to play golf. We are trying to capture this in our `Birdball For Life' campaign and show how these bonds stay with you forever."
