Michael Belfiore and Tony Sanchez, both rising juniors at Boston College, completed the summer season with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Red Sox finished the season with an 18-25-1 mark.

Sanchez finished the season with a .326 batting average, ranking ninth in the league in that category. The catcher registered six doubles, three home runs and 18 RBI. He led the Red Sox in both slugging percentage (.489) and on-base percentage (.462).

Belfiore, a lefthanded pitcher, completed the summer with a 0-1 record and a 3.21 earned-run average in 11 relief appearances. The Commack, N.Y., product fanned 21 batters and issued just four walks in 14.0 innings of work. He was credited with one save.

BC assistant coach Steve Englert, who is now in his sixth season as the manager of the Harwich Mariners, led his team to a 24-20 record. The Mariners earned a spot in the league playoffs as a result of their second-place finish in the Eastern Division.
