Boston College juniors Jason Delaney and Chris Lambert earned 2004 American Baseball Coaches Association All-Northeast Region honors, according to an announcement made by the coaches' Northeast Region selection committee.
Delaney captured All-Northeast Region first-team honors, while Lambert gained second-team accolades.
Delaney and Lambert had both previous been honored as All-New England and BIG EAST first-team choices.
Delaney hit a team-high .368 this season, stroking 77 hits in 58 games. The outfielder hit a team-high nine home runs, while tying for the team lead with 50 RBI. He also registered 14 doubles and one triple. Delaney participated in the New England All-Star Game at Fenway Park earlier this month and launched a home run into the Green Monster seats.
Lambert, a right-handed pitcher from Manchester, N.H., posted a 6-4 overall record and a 3.02 earned-run average this spring. He fanned 107 batters in 92.1 innings of work. This year's BIG EAST Co-Pitcher of the Year, he was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 2004 MLB Draft (19th overall).
Boston College finished the 2004 season with a 32-27 record, earning a berth in the 2004 BIG EAST Championship Tournament.
