Baseball Plays Maine in Portland

May 14, 2012

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team travels to Portland, Maine, on Tuesday to play Maine at 6 p.m. at Hadlock Stadium, home of the Portland Sea Dogs. The Eagles (21-30) will play the Black Bears (25-22) in their last non-conference game of 2012.

All tickets for the game are priced at $6 and can be ordered by calling the Portland Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com.

"Playing in Portland at Hadlock Field is a great opportunity for our program," head coach Mike Gambino said. "Portland has a great reputation for great baseball fans, so on top of being able to play in one of the best minor league parks in the country, we get to play in front of some great fans. The greater Portland area also has a large contingency of BC fans and alumni so being able to get them to a game will be a lot of fun for our players."

"The Sea Dogs are very excited to host two top-notch collegiate baseball teams," stated Sea Dogs Executive Vice President and General Manager Geoff Iacuessa. "This is a great opportunity for the fans in southern Maine to catch the high caliber play of Division I collegiate baseball in their own backyard."

Junior catcher Matt Paré grew up in Portland and freshman Nick Colucci, who is redshirting is also from the city.

The Black Bears will be the home team in the contest.
