Baseball Hosts Fordham for Two-Game Series

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team plays its last two weekend series at home, hosting Fordham before wrapping up the ACC schedule with Duke next weekend.
On Saturday, the Eagles (20-29) host Rams (21-30) at 4 p.m. at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Shea Field. On Sunday, the two teams play at 1 p.m.
BC won four in a row before dropping a three-game series against No. 10 North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Rams took two-of-three from conference opponent Rhode Island at home last weekend.
Dating back to 1980, the Eagles and Rams have faced off only once, splitting a doubleheader on March 2, 1997. Fordham took the first game, 7-4, and BC won the second game, 9-5.
Second-year head coach Mike Gambino is coaching in his 100th game at The Heights. Sophomore Tom Bourdon is third in the ACC with 71 hits and second 118 total bases. He is also tied for third with 18 doubles. He ranks 19th with a .326 batting clip. Senior Anthony Melchionda currently is tied for eighth in BC record books with 198 career hits.
