Chestnut Hill, Mass. - - Boston College will play at Stonehill College Wednesday March 15 in Easton, Mass. Game time is 3 p.m. The game was originally scheduled to be hosted by the Eagles as the season-opener at the Heights.
BC enters Wednesday's game with a 9-4 record and two-game win streak. At the conclusion of their 10-game spring training trip, the Eagles moved up amongst the BIG EAST league-leaders in multiple categories. In team totals, BC is first in batting (.336) and second in pitching (3.08 ERA).
Andy Sullivan (Winchester, Mass.), now 3-0, has not allowed an earned run in 19.0 innings to lead all conference hurlers. Teammate Erik Olson (Reading, Mass.) is second with a 0.66 ERA in 13.2 innings. Steve Langone (Reading, Mass.) and Brendan Nolan (Swampscott, Mass.) round out the BC crew, ranking fifth (1.23 ERA) and sixth (1.38 ERA), respectively.
Both Jarett Mendoza (North Dighton, Mass.) and Jeff Mackor (Salem, N.H.) share a league lead in home runs with three. Mackor, a sophomore catcher, is also third in slugging percentage (.667).
Langone's seven doubles tops the league. The pitcher/utility player is also second in runs scored (1.31 per game).
