CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - - The Eagles (0-3) dropped a 14-8 decision to no. 19 Oklahoma State Saturday Feb. 10 in Boca Raton, Fla. The Cowboys, ranked 19th in Collegiate Baseball and 25th in Baseball America, improved to 5-0.

Oklahoma State outhit the Eagles by a slim margin (11-8) but scored in all but two innings while committing nine errors. Three of the Eagles' eight runs were unearned. The BC pitching staff struggled, issuing 18 walks to OSU hitters in nine innings.

BC sophomore Ryan Leahy (Salem, Mass.) and senior Joe Kealty (Framingham, Mass.) the lineup's no. 2 and no. 3 batters, each contributed a pair of hits. Junior Brian Macchi (Milford, Mass.) was 2-for-5, including a two-run home run, and center fielder Jarett Mendoza (North Dighton, Mass.) added a sacrifice fly and RBI double.

Redshirt freshman James Dawson (Portland, Maine) took the loss, allowing one hit in 3.0 innings. He came on for Matt Lederhos (Westwood, Mass.), who gave up six runs on five hits in 3.0 innings.

The Cowboys' Scott Baker picked up his first win of the year after striking out six and allowing five hits in 6.0 innings. Nebasett Brown led the team offensively, going 2-for-5 for three RBIs.

The Eagles face host Florida Atlantic Sunday February 11 at 12 noon.
