The Boston College baseball team held its annual spring exhibition game against the Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers, Fla., dropping the contest 10-0.
Sox ace Curt Schilling threw four scoreless innings and surrendered one hit in the process. Jett Ruiz produced the lone hit off the Sox ace, a single to left field in the fourth.
BC pitchers Ted Ratliff and Nick Asselin held the Sox scoreless throught the first two innings. Nick Napolitano took the loss, allowing two runs in the fourth inning.
The Eagles have faced the Red Sox 16 times and have lost each game. The teams met for the first time in 1916, with the Red Sox registering a 9-1 victory. They have met every year since 1993, with the Eagles losing by just one run in 1999 and 2002. The Red Sox won by the same score in 2001.
The Eagles, 6-1 on the year, will continue their regular-season schedule tomorrow against the University of Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. in Orlando, Fla. at Rollins College.
