Brian Sankey is in his first season as assistant coach for Boston College. The 1996 Boston College graduate and four-year baseball letterwinner under Coach Richard Maloney, also currently serves as the Athletic Business Office intern.

Sankey served as captain his senior year at BC (1996). He was named to the BIG EAST First Team after batting .365 in his junior season. Sankey would average .353 batting his final two seasons on the Heights and .311 in his four-year career. The first baseman started 155 of 156 games, compiling 166 hits, 44 doubles, 12 home runs and 120 RBIs.

He also played in the prestigious Cape Cod Summer League (1993-95), while coaching youth summer camps.

Upon receiving his B.A. in economics from BC, Sankey was drafted in the 32nd round by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played in more than 400 professional baseball games at the Single A level. He won the Northwest League Championship with the Yakima Bears where he set a single season home run record (11) in 1996.

Brian and his wife Melissa reside in Mansfield with their 1-year old son, Austin.
