Brian Durkin, born July 17, 1980 … Played for the NECBL Mill City All-Americans in the summer of 2000.

AS A JUNIOR: Honored with 2001 All-BIG EAST Third Team distinction ... named a New England all-star ... finished at .373, second among BC starters and ninth among BIG EAST hitters at regular season's end; his .369 mark in conference action finished 10th, placed fourth in the final league statistics in home runs (eight) and fifth in slugging percentage (.592) ... hit safely in 40 of 49 games ... had a 12-game hit streak from April 21 - May 6 ... amassed 15 multiple-hit games, powered three hits in a game seven times ... totaled five hits in eight plate appearances with four runs and three RBIs in the Beanpot to be named 2001 Tournament MVP; slammed a home run into the right center field bullpen at Fenway during BC’s 10-5 win over UMass ... was 4-for-10 with a double and triple and three runs scored in the Villanova series ... went 4-for-5 vs. Maine (April 25) ... hit in nine-consecutive games from March 9-23 ... mounted a .393 batting average (.893 slugging percentage) with four home runs and one triple for seven RBIs in Florida ... named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week March 12 ... against LaSalle (March 11), hit 3-for-3 with a home run and triple and three runs scored - one double short of the cycle.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Named to the 2000 BIG EAST Academic All-Star team for the second-consecutive season … made 35 appearances with 17 starts … was 30-for-78 with 16 runs batted in; eleven of those hits were for extra bases (five doubles, one triple, five home runs) … enjoyed nine multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI contests … was 4-for-5 in BC’s 13-6 victory over College of Charleston (February 12) … went 3-for-5 with three runs scored against Georgetown (April 30) … was 2-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBIs in the second game of the series with the Hoyas (April 29) … keyed two victories over Villanova, hitting a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to snap a 3-3 tie and lift BC 5-3 over the Wildcats in game one (April 1) … registered a two-run single to give the Eagles an 8-5 advantage in its last at bat … hit a pinch-hit home run to get the Eagles within one of Seton Hall (6-5) at the BIG EAST Tournament’s semifinal game … his double drove in McCarthy to give BC a 1-0 lead over the Red Sox (March 3).

AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in 12 games, including three starts … was 4-for-13 on the season, good for a .308 batting average ... collected his home run as a collegian against Holy Cross (April 20) ... went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored against Milwaukee College of Engineering (March 3) ... doubled in and scored a run against Saginaw Valley State (March 6).

BEFORE BC: Earned All-Merrimack Valley and Lowell Sun all-star honors two years at Lowell High School … earned Outstanding Male Athlete at Lowell High School his senior year (1998) … batted .400 all three years at the varsity level for coach George Cuhna.

PERSONAL: Enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences as a history major … a fine student-athlete, who is a member of the National Honor Society (junior and senior year) … earned four-year All-Conference and two-year all-star honors in swimming at Lowell High School … Brian is the youngest of Mary Ann and Mike Durkin’s three children.
