Spent summer of 2004 playing for the Falmouth Commodores in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League...hit .206 over a 26 game span...played for the Chatham Athletics the season before, earning the team's Most Improved Player award after he hit over .250 (12-for-47) in the second half of the season.
As a Junior (2004)
Selected to All-Big East first team...also earned ABCA All-Northeast Region first-team honors...participated in New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association's (NEIBA) all-star game at Fenway Park after earning All-New England first-team status...hit home run over Green Monster and collected two other hits on the day...hit a team-high .368, leading the Eagles with 77 hits...also led team with nine home runs, 50 RBI and a .574 slugging percentage...hit home run and knocked in three runs in 11-4 victory over No. 10 Auburn on February 21...RBI double in 10th inning gave Eagles a 12-11 win over Massachusetts on April 29...collected four hits twice, once against West Virginia on May 8 and again at Seton Hall on May 21...hit a game-winning grand slam in 12th inning in 15-9 win over WVU...earned Big East Player of the Week honors for week ending May 10 for performances (8-for-19, 11 RBI)...hit safely in 13 consecutive games from April 18 to May 6...collected 25 hits during that span...hit ninth home run of season in Big East Tournament victory over Pittsburgh on May 28.
As a Sophomore (2003)
Hit .283 with 19 of his 49 hits going for extra bases...his 32 RBI ranked second on the squad...hit safely in 29 games, 12 of which were multi-hit efforts...named Big East Co-Player of the Week and Northeast Regional Player of the Week by College Baseball Insider for week ending April 29 after going 14-for-22 (.636) with two home runs and seven RBI as the Eagles went 5-1 and won the Beanpot Championship...in that span, had back-to-back four-hit games...hit for the cycle against Seton Hall on April 27...named to the Preseason All-Big East Team by the conference coaches as well as Baseball America.
As a Freshman (2002)
Ranked third on the team in batting average (.348), hits (63) and on-base percentage (.417)...played in and started all 53 games ...recorded 20 multi-hit games and had four games of three or more hits...registered 15 doubles, two home runs and 27 RBI while scoring 32 runs...named Big East Co-Player of the Week on April 1 after going 8-for-14 with two home runs, two doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored against Connecticut and Pittsburgh.
Named by the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) as a Third-Team All-American...team captain his senior year...played under Norm Walsh at Boston College High School, where he batted .510 his senior season... was named a two-time Catholic Conference All-Star...twice named to the Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic Team...honored as an Eastern Massachusetts and All-State All-Star...won a state championship during his four-year stint at BC High...owns the career hits record at BC High...named the team's offensive player of the year and MVP his senior year...also played basketball and football.
