Each day throughout Flynn Fund Appreciation Week, the Flynn Fund continues to spotlight a different BC Athletics donor. Today's spotlight features Bob '75, '78 and Stacy '75 Naumes P '01, '04, '07 of Boston. Stacy earned her bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from BC in 1975, while Bob earned two degrees during his time on the Heights (BA '75 and JD '78). In addition, The Naumes have three children who are also BC alumni: Robert Jr. '01, Christopher '04 and Ryan '07.

In 2010, the Naumes established an endowed fund named in memory of Bob's late brother, Kenneth Naumes '79. Gifts in support of endowed funds allow alumni, parents and friends to leave a permanent legacy while providing perpetual support for BC's talented students. The Kenneth Naumes '79 Financial Aid Fund helps advance the mission of Boston College by providing financial aid for student-athletes.

Below please read more about why the Naumes continue to generously support BC Athletics.

Why do you feel it is important to support BC Athletics?
Considering the current cost of running a successful college athletic program, it is very important that all alumni and fans help with financial support.

To what designation did you choose to give and why?
I funded a scholarship for BC Athletics in memory of my brother Ken because attending games at BC was a great family experience for us. My brother and I had football season tickets since the early 1970s and attended most home games together. Our children and my grandchildren now also enjoy game day.

How would you like to see your gift impact today's generation of BC students?
I hope my gift will help the school attract student-athletes who couldn't otherwise afford to attend.

With so many great charitable organizations you could choose to support, why do you include BC among your philanthropic priorities?
I was fortunate to get a great college education at BC when tuition was substantially lower. Today's costs at all top schools make it very difficult for many students to attend. I hope my gift helps make a difference for a deserving student.

Please share one of your most memorable experiences as a Boston College student.
I have seen a lot of great games but my favorite as a student was beating Texas in the old Alumni stadium.

Describe your experiences cheering-on the Eagles on game day.
Football game days are a great opportunity to get together with family and friends. There is nothing better than tailgating and watching a football game on a nice fall day in Chestnut Hill.

How have you seen BC change since you were a student?
Everything at BC has changed since I was a student, except the great Jesuit education.

What would you say to a friend who was considering joining the Flynn Fund?
Gifts to the Flynn Fund are an excellent way for alumni and fans to give back to a school that we were very lucky to attend.

What are you most looking forward to in 2013-14 season?
I am looking forward to seeing the changes in the football program under Coach Addazio. His enthusiasm for the school and the game is contagious. Go Eagles!
