Scott MacPherson is in his fifth season as the Boston College head coach entering the
2011-2012 season. Macpherson has been coaching alpine racing for nine season's including
six at the collegiate level. A 2002 graduate of Colby College, MacPherson began coaching
at the high school level spending five years at the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham,
Ma, leading the bulldogs to five straight undefeated seasons. Macpherson spent three seasons
at the Waterville Valley, BBTS program as a J1/J2 coach as well as one season with the Tufts
University ski team before joining the Eagles.
In his first four years at Boston College, Macpherson led the men's and women's
teams to eight straight USCSA post season's and seven national appearances. This run was
highlighted in the spring of 2011, with the women's team taking third place at the USCSA SL
National Championships. In four years, Macpherson has coached athletes to twelve USCSA All
American individual titles. In 2011 MacPherson was named MacConnell division Coach of the
Year. In September of 2011 Boston College Skiing was accepted into the Eastern Interscholastic
Ski Association (EISA) for the upcoming season. This begins a new era for the Eagles as they
compete against the best collegiate talent in the world.
MacPherson's is currently enrolled as a graduate student in Boston College's Lynch
School of Education working towards a master's degree in Higher Education Administration. His
current skiing credentials include: Level 200 USSA Alpine coach candidate, Level 200 Referee,
Level 100 Timing and Calculations and a Level 100 Technical Delegate candidate. Coach lives
in Pembroke, Ma with his wife Cady and daughters Emilia and Maisie.
