Nov. 12, 2013

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore Erika Reineke (sailing) and senior Andre Williams (football) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Reineke won the ICSA Women's Singlehanded National Sailing Championship this past weekend in Newport, R.I. She defended her title that she won as a freshman last year. Reineke was third after the first day of racing and then took hold of the regatta on day two. She finished the day in first and held the lead through Sunday for the victory. She placed first in nine races over the weekend. Reineke finished with 49 points while the closest competitor had 69 points.

Williams rushed 30 times for a school-record 295 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdown runs to lift BC to a 48-34 win at New Mexico State, marking the third time this season he has rushed for more than 200 yards. Williams surpassed his previous high (263 vs. Army) and the school's, which was previously held by Montel Harris (264, NC State, 2009). With the score tied at 34, Williams registered a season-long 80-yard touchdown run with 4:53 left to play, then gave the visiting Eagles a two touchdown lead on a 47-yard touchdown run with 2:33 remaining in the game. Williams is the nation's leader in rushing yards (1,471) and rushing yards per game (163.4).
