Erika Reineke To Compete For ICSA Singlehanded Championship

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College freshman Erika Reineke is heading west this weekend to compete in the Intercollegiate Sailing Championships to be held at Belmont Pier in Long Beach, California. The event is hosted and organized by the US Sailing Center-Long Beach and the University of Southern California varsity sailing team.
The women are competing for the Janet Lutz Trophy, which was won last season by BC alum Annie Haeger '12. Haeger won the event three times in four tries.
Reineke, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, qualified for the event when she won the NEISA Women's Singlehanded Championship on Sept. 29-30 on the Long Island Sound. She won the event with 30 points, with the closest contender being 37 points away.
This past weekend, Reineke helped Boston College win the Nickerson Trophy Regatta, hosted by Coast Guard Academy. Reineke sailed with teammate Kaitlin Driscoll in the B Division and earned first place with 14 points.
